The theme of my paintings has always revolved around the link between a human consciousness and the landscape unto which it is projected.
The landscapes I represents has always been fictitious in nature. Upon viewing, it tries to install a sense of familiarity or belonging. Recently if have concerned myself with recognizable beacons in my immediate surroundings. I then combine fictitious features like new tree-lines, telephone wires or structures to lift the work and creating a new unseen, but familiar environment.
The exhibition P E with Jaco Benade will be my first show in the Eastern Cape where I present a number of known and unknown dusk vistas of Port Elizabeth and beyond.
